Parchment manuscript contract in the rule of Felipe the IV. Dated 1654 and 1655, then again in 1660 and 1661. Testimony of power by Don Cristobal de Castilla y Zamora (the Viceroyalty of Peru) to Mr. Francisco Fernandez Baraona, authorizing an expedition to Spain and the sum of 4,521 pesos to buy slaves in the Spanish peninsula for his Bocanegra's Farm. Contains all details and dispensations necessary to the mission: payments, delivery, exception for judicial courts, and even the replacement of Fernandez himself, if killed in transit. Fourteen manuscript pages, stamped and signed. Docketed on verso. Measures approximately 12.5" x 8.75". Some minor toning and creasing, with some roughness along edges and two horizontal folding creases. An exceptional document in very good condition.
