More Information: Krag [1549-1602] born at Ripen and regent of the school of the school of Copenhagen as well as professor of Greek there. In 1578 he set out on travels through Europe. When he returned he found two extra children that were not his and he divorced his wife. He worked as a representative of the King of Denmark in several important business negotiations. He wrote several works on classical themes as well as an annals of Denmark for which he was appointed royal historian. This work on Spartan history was highly respected and went through editions, including being part of Gronovius' Thesaurus Antiquitatum Graecarum, into the late 17th century.
