Historic Texana Collectibles

Popular Historic Texana Collectibles
Texana collectibles include anything and everything having to do with the great state of Texas. Collectors are looking primarily for maps, books, manuscripts and autographs, and relics belonging to major historical figures.
Of particular interest are pocket maps of Texas that are still attached to their original boards. The most desirable maps were originally issued bound in small boards or as part of a book. Popular map makers include Jacob De Cordova, Charles W. Pressler, and Augustus Mitchell. There are many others, and if you would like to know the value of your map, send us images and we will let you know.
Rare Texas books are also popular with collectors. Early travel books depicting Texas are the most desirable, but historical texts are also sought. Although collectors are primarily looking for 19th Century books, there are many popular 20th Century authors that are much sought after.
Broadside and circular printings in good condition are scarce and always desirable. Especially if they are included in Thomas W. Streeter's bibliography.
Manuscripts and autographs penned by important Texas figures are always in great demand. Letters and documents signed by Alamo defenders are always sought, especially those by Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and William Barret Travis. Signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence are also popular, as are letters by presidents of the Republic of Texas and early founders. Values will vary depending on the content and condition.
Relics that belonged to historical figures are also highly desired. Of course, good provenance is necessary to assert that the item is authentic. The better the provenance, the higher the value.
Whether it's a single item, or an entire library, we would be happy to review your collection and let you know if it is material we can bring to auction.
