Description
Beautiful Royal Irish Fusiliers Lt. Colonel's Dress Uniform, Circa 1920-1930. A complete uniform including: (1) A scarlet doeskin tunic, piped in white, with a black standing collar trimmed in gold brocade. The collar bears the distinctive insignia of the Royal Irish Fusiliers but sadly the gold bullion fusilier insignia is missing on the right side of the collar. Removable gold epaulettes with bullion Lt. Colonel's insignia and gold bullion "M" are affixed to the uniform with a single Royal Irish Fusilier 18mm button on each shoulder. The cuffs are adorned with gold brocade and gold braid. Eight 25mm Royal Irish Fusilier gold buttons made by Jennens & Co., London complete the tunic. The interior is lined with white cotton, quilted in the chest area. A gold hat cord is attached through the right epaulette. The tunic is free of moth damage and in excellent condition. (2) Black doeskin trousers with six-button fly, and single red stripe. The trousers have a few small moth nips scattered about but otherwise are in excellent condition. (3) Officers' sash, 2½" wide, gold with two maroon stripes, and two large tassels. (4) Victorian-era officers' sword belt, 1¼" wide, constructed of gold brocade attached to a maroon morocco leather backing, and with a two-piece brass buckle.Auction Info
