Description

Wells Fargo: Die Cut, Embossed Metal Door Push. This attractive 4" x 10" brass and copper shell plaque is titled "Wells Fargo Company's Stage Express Routes". It depicts, in a graphic manner, the stops along the line from Nevada City to Coulterville, California. It was manufactured by Abbot Downing Company of Concord, New Hampshire. The embossed metalwork has beautiful toning. We would date this 1890-1900. It could serve dual purpose as a ledger mark, a paperweight for invoices and receipts or a screen door push.. It is quite handsome.
