Description

Three 1867-1872 Indian Wars Cavalry Muster Rolls. As follows.
(1) 12/31/71 for Company "K" at Fort Randall, Dakota Territory. Lists deserters, who was in confinement, special duties, etc. Signed by two former Civil War generals, Geo. H. Cram and Elwell Otis.
(2) 1867 Roll for Company "K" of the famous 5th Cavalry, who played a major role in the campaign to subdue the Cheyenne.
(3) Another 12/31/71 roll for the 22nd U.S. Infantry. Also signed by Elwell whose troops were at the heart of many battles with the Sioux in the summer and fall of 1876.
All are in nice condition and give interesting insights into Army life in the West.
