Description

Single Loop Texas Half Skirt Side Holster and a Rare Double Cartridge Money Belt, Circa 1880-1890. The closed toe holster is for a 7½" Colt SAA pistol. The money belt measures 30¾" to the original middle hole and adjusts down to 28½" at the smallest and up to 32¾" at the longest. There are four rows of cartridge loops for twenty-six individual .44 caliber rounds, and interestingly, along the back of the belt is a single row of twenty-six cartridge loops for approximately a .30 caliber rifle rounds. The holster, with a hole at the toe for a leg tie, is unmarked with minor chipping and minor stitching loss. The 4" belt is marked "36" by the clipped corner buckle and "AS 25" on the tongue billet. The tongue billet has been repositioned and secured by two brass rivets. Both the belt and the holster are attractive and fine.
