Description

E. McDonald of Deadwood, South Dakota: Left Hand Single Loop Texas Half Skirt Side Holster and Money Belt, Circa 1885. The border tooled hand-stamped holster, with a center rosette and an open toe, is for a 5½" Colt SAA pistol. The holster is clearly marked "E. McDonald/ Deadwood" on the loop. The 3" money belt measures 37" at the smallest and up to 42" at the longest. There is a row of cartridge loops for forty individual .41 caliber rounds and a flap to cover the money slits on the right side. Minor stitching loss on the belt by the buckle, else fine. The holster shows modest, honest wear, else fine. Extremely rare and very desirable.
