Description
1894 Oklahoma Territory Printed Certification Document. One page, 8.25" x 3", October 8, 1894, "Sac & Fox Agency", Oklahoma Territory. A document certifying a guard's employment for four days over "Pen-e-she et al a United States prisoner in charge of J. B. Lilly Deputy Marshall, from Cherokee Nation to Guthrie being a distance of 218 miles." One wonders what precipitated the transfer of Pen-e-she and the others. An intriguing document worthy of additional research. One small staple hole and stain in the upper left corner, else about fine.Auction Info
