Skylab II (SL-3) Flown Mechanical Pencil Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Pilot Jack Lousma, with Signed COA. A 5" long, slim, chrome-colored mechanical pencil, Garland Model 35-P, manufactured by Lew Manufacturing Co. of Coventry, Rhode Island. The Part Number "SEB12100081-301" and the Serial Number "1064" are both engraved into the barrel. Added at the top is a piece of Velcro to facilitate attachment and storage inside the spacecraft. This is the same model pencil used by many of the Apollo missions. This particular pencil flew nearly twenty-five million miles in earth orbit during the fifty-nine day mission, July 28-September 25, 1973. Very good condition.

Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Jack Lousma" on his letterhead, stating (in full): "I hereby certify that the accompanying silver metal pencil, Serial Number 1064, was used by me and flown aboard Skylab II (SL-3) July 28 -- September 25, 1973. It is from my personal collection and has been in my possession since the mission."
