Description

Nautical Map of 1887 Wild West Trip to England. This is an extraordinary, a unique souvenir of the Wild West's groundbreaking trip to England in 1887. It is a 12" x 19" nautical map of the Atlantic, stretching from North America to Europe. The route of the voyage of the SS State of Nebraska, carrying the entire company (including livestock) of Buffalo Bill's Wild West, is carefully drawn in black ink from New York to London in April, 1887. The ship's navigator has annotated each day's progress. The map is inscribed and presented to the Wild West's manager, Lew Parker, and boldly signed by the ship's captain, R. S. Campbell. A remarkable keepsake, indeed! This lot is part of the Ed Goodman Collection. For more information, please visit this link.
