Specialized Collection of Used Postage Dues. Extensive collection of the 1879-91 Large Postage Dues comprising hundreds of stamps including (if one wanted to put together sets) 15 complete sets of J1-7, three of J15-21 and eight of J22-28, plus many, many duplicates, virtually all chosen for shade or cancellation interest the latter including colors, geometrics, town cancels, etc. (5 sets of J1-7 can be put together with NY "string of pearls"). There are also a large number of multiples, including blocks of 4 or larger of J4-7 and J25-28 (there is a block of six with plate number of J28). Condition is a bit mixed, as would be expected, but is generally F-VF with numerous Very Fine or better examples. A wonderful, lovingly assembled over a period of many years, with a Scott value in excess of $20,000 without premiums for cancels, shades, and multiples.Estimate $6,000-$8,000
