THIS PAIR IS AMONG THE FEW SURVIVING EXAMPLES OF A COMMERCIALLY USED ORIGINAL HAMMARSKJOLD INVERT.
IT IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE ONLY MULTIPLE.
As stated in Scott, the 1203a original Hammarskjold invert can only be collected on a cover (or a piece) postmarked before November 16, 1962 (the date the #1204 Hammarskjold Special Printing was issued). The 1204 special printing was issued by the Post Office following the discovery of No. 1203 with the yellow background inverted. While a small quantity of the original exist on first day cover, commercially used examples are extremely rare.
