Description

The "VICTORY" Handstamps on the Special Delivery Issues.
The number of examples of E8 and E9 offered here represent a substantial percentage of those in existence and do not in any way reflect upon the real supply of the material, which is extremely small. Mr. Pounder notes, in fact, that it took him six years to locate the first E8 that was available for him to purchase.

1944, 20c Dull Violet with Handstamped "VICTORY" Overprint (E8), left sheet margin single, fresh and well centered, interleaving adhering to gum, as is most often the case, Very Fine. Only 138 were produced.
