Description

Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-107) Embroidered Mission Insignia Patch by AB Emblem Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 3.75" x 5" cut edge patch with a plastic back from NASA's official patch vendor. This was the last flight of Columbia as an in-flight break up during reentry after the nearly 16-day mission killed all seven crewmembers: Rick D. Husband, William C. McCool, David M. Brown, Kalpana Chawla, Michael P. Anderson, Laurel B. Clark, and Ilan Ramon. The central element of the patch's design is the microgravity symbol (µg) flowing into the rays of the astronaut symbol with the crew's surnames around and an Israeli flag at lower right celebrating Ilan Ramon as the first Israeli in space. A desirable original patch. Excellent. Sealed in an archival holder, CAG 1001715-010. . This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
