Description
Gemini "Launch Vehicle Team" Original Flag. A beautiful large nylon swallowtail flag, 29" on the hoist and 42" on the fly, with a blue field. It features the Project Gemini insignia in the center in blue and gold with "LAUNCH VEHICLE TEAM" below in white letters, identical on both sides. The manufacturer is listed as "F. W. Haxel & Co./ 202 N. Pearl St [Baltimore]". The origin of this banner is lost to history. In the KSC visitor center is an identical flag (without the lettering) that was apparently flown on all the Gemini missions, on loan from the Johnson Space Center. We speculate that this was made to fly at the Kennedy Space Center during the Gemini missions. Perfect for display. Likely unique and worthy of the finest collections.
