Apollo 13 Command Module Flown Mission Patch and Lunar Module Flown Netting on a Crew-Signed Mat, Originally from the Personal Collection of NASA CSM Engineer Dave Brooks. A 3.5" diameter Beta cloth color mission insignia mounted next to a 1.5" x 1.75" segment of Beta cloth webbing on an 8" x 10" piece of matboard. Beneath, Lunar Module Pilot Fred Haise has written: "To Dave-/ This patch and Aquarius netting flown to/ the moon on Apollo 13 Spacecraft 11-17 April 1970./ Now about that cryo tank!! In spite of those circum-/ stances you readied a CSM that came through/ with flying colors. Odessey [sic] was a great one./ Thanks from the Apollo 13 crew,/ Fred Haise". It is also signed by Commander "James Lovell" and Command Module Pilot "Jack Swigert". David R. Brooks was a member of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division who traveled with the Apollo 13 crew from Houston to the Cape to aid in flight training. A significant souvenir of this nearly-disastrous mission, with two flown relics and original ownership by an important member of the team. Excellent condition with some light age toning and one minor area of soiling.
