Description
Apollo 11 Crew-Signed Limited Edition "The Great Moment" Canvas Print, #5/11. A 36" x 22" print of Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon, issued in 1989 upon the twentieth anniversary of the first manned moon landing. The original painting was signed by Armstrong and his signature is visible at lower left in this reproduction. This incredibly limited edition is signed in the lower border in pencil: "Neil Armstrong", "Buzz Aldrin", "Michael Collins", and "Paul Calle". Calle has also written in pencil at lower left "First Man on the Moon 5/11". Paul Calle was a legendary space artist, one of a handful chosen by NASA to document the race to the moon but the only one who was actually with Armstrong in the hours prior to launch. Beautifully double matted and framed to an overall 43" x 31". Frame has minor nicks. Overall very fine.Auction Info
