Every astronaut that flew on a Mercury mission!
Alan Bean's Rare "Mercury Spacecraft" McDonnell Lithograph
Signed by the Six Astronauts who Flew in the Program, from
His Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. A
color image of the Mercury capsule with the escape tower atop, 12"
x 22". Along either side of the image are the mission insignias and
flight information for all six missions, beneath which, each
astronaut has signed beautifully in black ink, as follows: "Alan
B Shepard Jr", "Gus Grissom", "J H Glenn, Jr.",
"Scott Carpenter", "Wally Schirra", and "Gordon
Cooper". The caption printed beneath reads: "MERCURY
SPACECRAFT/ Designed and built by MCDONNELL, St. Louis/ for the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration". An extremely rare,
high-demand item. Only the third of these Heritage has offered, the
first in 2007. Included is the original mailing tube where it was
sent by NASA to "Lt. Cmdr. Alan L. Bean/ Astronaut/ Manned
Spacecraft Center..." There is some mild toning in the left margin
and top left area which could likely be mitigated by a paper
restorer. Otherwise very fine, with the signatures approaching
perfection. Stored rolled. From the estate of Moonwalker and
Artist Alan Bean.
