Neil Armstrong Signed Original Sieger Souvenir Sheet: "Apollo XI" Belgium Single Stamp with Rare "Gent" Pictorial First Day Cancellation. A 3.75" x 5.125" single 20F+10F "First Man on the Moon" souvenir stamp sheet clearly signed in blue ballpoint at lower left: "Neil Armstrong". The stamp pictures the three-man crew and the graphic on the sheet portrays Armstrong's famous first step. This is one of the well-known Sieger stamp sheets signed and issued between 1968 and 1971, the only private commercial activity that Armstrong participated in. Scarce and desirable. Excellent.Between 1970 and 1971, Neil Armstrong entered into a limited commercial agreement with German philatelic dealer Hermann E. Sieger, during which he signed a series of Apollo 11 commemorative stamp sheets. It's estimated that 500 to 1,000 of these sheets were signed. However, a much smaller group are known to bear the first-day pictorial cancellation, such as the "Gent" mark featured on this item.
