Description

Fred Haise Signed Apollo 13 Damaged Service Module Color Photo, with Added Comments. An 8" x 10" silk finish color photo on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Supreme paper of the heavily damaged Service Module as photographed from the Lunar Module Aquarius after separation. The damage, caused by the infamous oxygen tank explosion that forced the crew to abort their lunar landing mission, is clearly visible, with the entire outer panel blown off, exposing the internal structure. Signed in silver felt tip: "A view of the damaged Apollo 13 Service Module/ Fred Haise/ LMP/ 4-17-70". Excellent.

This photo captures a pivotal moment in NASA history, one that epitomizes the perils of spaceflight and the ingenuity and teamwork that brought the crew safely home. Fred Haise was one of the three astronauts aboard during this near-tragic mission. His first-hand inscription adds profound historical weight to an already powerful image.
