Description

Alan Shepard and Jules Bergman of ABC News: Twelve Vintage Glossy Photos of Their 1961 Television Interview, all from the Personal Archives of NASA Legend Bill Taub. All are 10" x 8" B&W prints of a sometimes pensive, sometimes amused Shepard as Bergman interviews him about his upcoming mission. Bergman was appointed Science Editor at ABC in 1961, the first to concentrate exclusively on that subject. He covered every single NASA mission from Freedom 7 to the Challenger disaster. Excellent.

NOTE: The photos from this archive were the inspiration for the recent book by J. L. Pickering and John Bisney, Photographing America's First Astronauts, Project Mercury Through the Lens of Bill Taub. A beautiful book from the Purdue University Press. Highly recommended. From the Collection of J. L. Pickering
