Description
Official Marshall model, the largest we've offered
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Massive Apollo Command/Service
and Lunar Module Model, 1/20 Scale, on Base. First, let's take
a look at the dimensions of this. The black lacquer-finish base is
24" x 12" x 1" and weighs thirteen pounds. The length from tip to
tip of the spacecraft itself is 31.5", the overall height is 34.5",
and it weighs fifteen pounds. On the bottom are complete
assembly/disassembly photo instructions and the "George C.
Marshall/ Space Flight Center/ Huntsville, Alabama/ Graphic
Engineering and Models Branch" label. The spacecraft separates into
four parts: SM, CM, LM Ascent, and LM Descent. We are not aware of
another of these 1/20 scale models selling at auction. It is, by
far, the most impressive, high-quality, limited edition official
model of the Apollo CSM/LM we can imagine ever becoming available.
Definitely a museum piece. Don't miss out on this one! Light wear,
needs some cleaning, appears complete save for the likelihood that
the LM Descent Stage originally had landing pads on the legs. Fine.
