Description
Luna 16 Sample Return Model. This 10.5" x 4" model was given to Ivan Borisenko, the head of the F.A.I. in Russia, for his contribution to the Luna return sampling missions Luna 16, Luna 20, and Luna 24. This is an extremely rare model that depicts the return sample launch complex taking off from the moon to return samples of "moondust" to earth. The inscription reads, "Ivan Borisenko, on his 60th year, 4-26-'81, from the Collective NPO." (NPO is now Energia.) Very fine condition.Auction Info
