GE Space Division "Pressure Vessel Spacecraft" Model. A presentation model produced by GE Space Division to illustrate a proposed "Pressure Vessel Spacecraft", a low-cost, Shuttle, era orbital module concept developed for NASA during the mid-to-late 1970s. Measuring an overall 18" x 10" x 16" and constructed of metal and acrylic with a conical forward section and attached framework, mounted on a wood-framed display base. The front plaque reads: PRESSURE VESSEL SPACECRAFT /A Shuttle-Era Low Cost Concept/ GE Space Division. Accompanying the model is its original NASA Federal Records Center storage carton, labeled: Agency: NASA Division: STROUD Brief Description of Records: Model - Pressure Vessel. Age and handling related wear, overall fine.
