Description

Braniff International Concorde Large 1/20 Scale Exhibition Model, Blue Livery. A dramatic and visually commanding large-scale exhibition model of the AƩrospatiale/BAE Concorde Supersonic Transport, rendered in Braniff International Airways' celebrated "Jellybean" blue livery from the airline's revolutionary End of the Plain Plane branding era. Mounted on a sleek chrome tripod-style floor stand, the model represents one of the most ambitious, and never fully realized, visions of the late Jet Age.

Measuring over eight feet in length with a 43 inch wingspan, the aircraft is finished in a vibrant two-tone scheme: a bold turquoise-blue upper fuselage and with crisp white vertical stabilizer and wings. The tail bears Braniff's distinctive white "BI" monogram, while the fuselage carries the full "BRANIFF INTERNATIONAL" wordmark in period script. The model captures Concorde's iconic delta-wing silhouette and droop-nose configuration in clean flight mode (landing gear retracted), emphasizing the sleek futurism that defined supersonic travel.

Although Braniff intended to paint at least one Concorde in its own bold corporate colors, the aircraft rotated back to Europe daily and were never repainted. Models such as this served as visual representations of what a Braniff-painted Concorde might have looked like, making them rare and evocative artifacts of aviation's most glamorous era.

This model was previously exhibited at the Frontiers of Flight museum and stands as a dramatic artifact of late 20th-century airline ambition. Minor surface wear consistent with professional display use., very fine.
