Description
Braniff International Airways Boeing 747-127 "Big Orange" Desk Model. A bold and highly collectible desk model of Braniff International Airways' famed "Big Orange" Boeing 747-127, manufactured by Air Jet Advance Models Inc. of Miami, Florida. Finished in Braniff's striking Ultra Orange livery the model represents one of the most iconic widebody aircraft of the Jet Age. Measuring an overall 13" x 12" 7" the acrylic model depicts Braniff's late-1970s simplified "Ultra" scheme, characterized by a solid orange fuselage and bold "BI" tail insignia. The "Flying Colors" program began under Alexander Girard in 1965 and was later streamlined into the bold monochromatic "Ultra" schemes of the late 1970s. Overall very fine.Auction Info
