Description

Neil Armstrong Museum Fund contributor's model

Apollo Lunar Module Grumman Contractor's Model with all Sixteen RCS Thruster Nozzles, on Base. Manufactured for Grumman by Precise Models, Inc. (and others) prior to the Apollo 11 moon landing. The 10.25" black base has color logos of both Grumman and NASA with the text "Lunar Module". Attached is a 2.75" x 0.75" engraved plaque that reads: "Bronze Award/ Contributor/ Neil Armstrong Museum Fund". The two-piece LM is removable from the base, made of injection-molded plastic, and is approximately 6" tall and 10" across. It accurately separates into Ascent and Descent Stages and has numerous tiny projecting parts. All parts including the thruster nozzles and antennas are present (which is rarely seen). It does not exhibit the toning from age as is often seen with these models; this is definitely one of the nicest examples we have offered. The acrylic base is somewhat scratched but that could possibly be mitigated. Very fine.
