Description

Space Shuttle Flown Pyrotechnic Nose Gear Extension Thruster. Approximately 12" long x 4.25" wide x 3.375" high, precision made of high strength aluminum with a white epoxy coating for durability. Two pyrotechnic devices extend this cylinder arm in order to lock down the Shuttle nose gear for a safe landing. NASA placed tape over the openings where the spent pyrotechnic devices had been when it was removed from a shuttle at KSC. The tag on the back reads as follows:
