Space Shuttle Enterprise (Approach and
Landing Tests) Flown Embroidered Mission Patch and "Ejection" Cue
Card on Crew-Signed Presentation Mat to S. David Griggs, Directly
from His Family's Collection, with Letter of Certification. A
4" diameter AB Emblem patch, a 6.5" x 4" color photo of the
Enterprise, and a 4" x 3" heavy cardstock cue card dated
8/30/77 giving instructions for ejecting from the spacecraft, all
mounted to a 14" x 11" matboard. At upper right, Haise has written:
"To Dave-/ Our thanks for all the lessons you gave us in the
Shuttle Training Aircraft. It made flying Enterprise seem natural
and easy./ Freddo". Also signed: "Gordo", "Joe",
and "Richard". Extremely rare items. A signed LOA from
Griggs' daughter included. Mat discolored, overall very good.S. David Griggs served as project pilot for NASA's Shuttle Training Aircraft (STA), helping design, develop, and test the modified Grumman Gulfstream II jets used to simulate Space Shuttle landings.
