Flown on the first flight of the Challenger.

Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-6) Flown American Flag and Patch on Presentation Certificate. A 5.75" x 4" U.S. cloth flag and a 4.75" x 4" three-sided embroidered "TDRSS NASA Communications for Space" patch are mounted to a 8.5" x 11" printed certificate with a facsimile signature of Administrator James M. Beggs. The printed text reads: "This Flag and Patch were flown aboard the maiden flight of the Space Shuttle, Challenger (STS-6), April 4-9, 1983, which deployed the first Tracking and Data Relay Satellite, TDRS-1" and "Presented to Malcolm McMullen in recognition of your support to the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System." STS-6 was the sixth overall flight in the Space Shuttle program and the first of ten flights for the Challenger. The crew of this Earth-orbital mission consisted of Commander Paul Weitz, Pilot Karol J. Bobko, and two Mission Specialists- Donald H. Peterson and Story Musgrave. Quite uncommon. Excellent condition.
