Description
Gemini 8 Flown Heat Shield Section in Acrylic Space Capsule on Wooden Pen Set Base. A section of approximately 0.625" x 0.625" x 1.25 mounted inside a 4.5" x 2.5" diameter model of the Gemini space capsule. That is mounted on a 10.5" x 5.25" x 0.625" wooden pen set base bearing an engraved plate with the text: "Section of Heatshield/ From Gemini 8/ Neil Armstrong/ David Scott/ 16 March 1966". This is the first of this format that Heritage has ever offered from this mission. There is a chunk broken off one side of the capsule nose which could easily be hidden from view for display.
