Gemini 5 Flown Large-Size American Flag Certified and Signed by
Mission Command Pilot Gordon Cooper. An approximately 18" x 12"
U.S. flag that flew nearly eight days in space with Gordon Cooper
and Charles Conrad. One of the main objectives of this mission was
to extend the length of time that a crewed flight spent in space.
The mission accomplished just that by doubling the flight length of
Gemini 4. It has been signed on lower white stripe: "This Flag
Was Flown on Gemini 5, August 21-29, 1965 Gordon Cooper". A
rare item and the first of its kind that Heritage has offered. Very
fine. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
