Description

Gemini 2 Flown Floatation Ball in Lucite Display on Wooden Base. A 1.25" diameter aluminum sphere that was used in the space program to help maintain the spacecraft's buoyancy in the water. Sealed in a 2" x 2" tall Lucite block which is mounted on a 3.5" square wooden base bearing a metal plate stating: "GEMINI S-C 2/ FLOTATION BALL/ JAN. 19, 1965". An incredibly rare item, and the first from this mission Heritage has offered. Age-toned, light wear, overall fine.
