Description

Ex. Deke Slayton

Apollo-Soyuz Test Project: Docking Module Pilot Deke Slayton's Mission-Worn NASA Logo Beta Flight Suit Patch Originally from His Personal Collection with Signed Letter of Authenticity from His Widow, Bobbie Slayton. A 3.75" square Beta cloth patch of the familiar "meatball" NASA logo with two strips of Velcro on the verso. This was on Slayton's flight suit during the nine-day mission in 1975 that brought together the United States and the Soviet Union for the first time in space, during the Cold War. It was also on his suit during pre- and post-mission photo sessions. The LOA is dated October 2003. Items such as this are rarely offered. Somewhat soiled but a one-of-a-kind offering. See adjacent mission insignia suit patch. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
