Apollo 9 Lunar Module Flown Kapton Insulation Foil Segment in Limited Edition ASF Display, #45/200, with COA Signed by Rusty Schweickart. A 2.75" diameter truncated acrylic cylinder, 3.25" tall overall. Enclosed inside is an odd-shaped piece of Kapton foil, approximately 1.625" x 0.625" in size, along with a color mission insignia for Apollo 9. On the bottom of the mission insignia is the text: "2009/ Space/ Artifact/ Series/ This insulation was removed from the top hatch/ of the Apollo 9 Lunar Module Spider by astronaut/ Rusty Schweickart as he prepared the craft to be/ jettisoned while in Earth's orbit. Apollo 9 flew the first/ manned flight of the LM from March 3-13, 1969,/ bringing man closer to landing on the Moon./ This artifact is from the personal collection of/ [facsimile signature]/ Russell L. Schweickart/ 66 of 200/ Created exclusively by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation". Included is a laminated signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity from Schweickart and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. Original box included. Excellent.
