Flown on the first crewed test flight of the lunar module
Apollo 9 Flown "Launch- T[ransposition] D[ocking] & E[xtraction]
Checklist" Book from the Collection of Mission Commander Jim
McDivitt, Signed and Certified, with His Signed Letter of
Authenticity. From the text of his LOA: "This Apollo 9
Launch-TD&E Checklist, Part No SKB32100010-301, S/N 1001,
consisting of one hundred and forty 5.5" x 8" sheets, including
twenty-seven with tabs, plus 5.5" x 8" front and back covers, was
flown in Earth orbit aboard Apollo 9, 3-13 March 1969, and is from
my personal collection. I have signed and endorsed the front cover
with 'Flown On Apollo 9 Prep' in green. [signed] Jim
McDivitt Jim McDivitt CDR Gemini IV and Apollo 9." This 1.375"
thick book is divided into several major sections and then various
sub-sections, as follows. Launch Operations (launch
preparation, boost insertion, separation, aborts, post landing,
launch emergency procedures); CMP Checklist (CMP insertion
activities, reference data, G&N general, navigation, prethrust,
thrusting, alignments, SCS, LM interface); LMP Checklist
(LMP insertion activities, systems management, flight emergency
procedures, and Entry Operations (vehicle preparation, SPS
deorbit, SM RCS deorbit, SM/CM RCS deorbit hybrid, earth landing,
post landing, entry emergency). A ton of interesting information
here with handwritten notes interspersed. A rare opportunity. Some
exposure to water has caused some pages to stick together, heavily
used, good.
