Apollo 11 Flown Command Module Pilot Solo Book Page, Signed and
Certified by Michael Collins, Directly from His Personal
Collection, with Handwritten and Signed Letter of
Certification, CAG Certified and Encapsulated. This 6.5" x 8"
page (68A) is full of handwritten pencil notes written while
Collins was orbiting the moon in the Command Module Columbia
during the Apollo 11 flight. Examples: "@102:02 Orange Spot On
Surface Flashed By...", "VHF background noise noted a
few minutes ago", "At R=100 mi LM barely visible in
SXT...", and "VHF Background noise loud in this area".
Signed at bottom in black ink: "Michael Collins CMP" and on
the verso: "Flown on Apollo XI, July 1969/ Michael Collins
CMP". We wonder about those strange noises that he was hearing.
Quite an unusual and important relic of this historic mission. Very
fine. CAG 3000042-020Included with this lot is a handwritten and signed Letter of Certification from Collins on his personal letterhead stating: "This is a page from my 'CMP Solo Book' which I kept attached to me by a loop around my neck while Neil and Buzz were elsewhere. I found this page especially interesting because of the strange noises I was hearing at the time. Michael Collins Apollo XI CMP".
