Description

One of the More Scarce Flown Apollo 11 artifacts.

Apollo 11 Flown and Crew-Signed Beta Cloth Mission Insignia Directly from the Personal Collection of Michael Collins, CAG Certified. A 6" x 6" swatch of Beta cloth with a 3.375" diameter mission insignia depicting an eagle carrying an olive branch to the moon with the Earth in the distance, designed by Michael Collins. This was flown aboard the Apollo 11 mission to the moon and later signed beautifully in black felt tip: "Neil Armstrong", "Carried to the moon aboard Apollo XI/ July 1969/ Michael Collins", and "Buzz Aldrin". Beta cloth is made from fire-safe Fiberglass Beta yarns, originated and developed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation. It was used in the space suits worn by the Apollo astronauts. A very desirable lunar-flown and crew-signed relic from this historic mission, the ultimate item for display. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 3000014-001. Excellent.
