Description
"One Giant Leap" Flown Artifacts From the Wright Flyer and Apollo 11. A 9.5" x 3" acrylic display featuring small segments of both the wing fabric from the "Flyer 1" and Kapton foil from Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia. These two artifacts were flown on two of the most important aviation achievements in history. Each segment is encased alongside 2.5" x 2" image of the Wright Flyer and Buzz Aldrin's lunar bootprint, respectively. A terrific desktop display that represents the connection between two defining eras-the Wright Brothers' pioneering spirit at Kitty Hawk and the audacious leap to the moon by Apollo 11. The first of these displays that Heritage has offered. Very fine. Property from the Michael Freedman CollectionAuction Info
