Description
Space Shuttle: ILC Dover Space Suit Cross Section. An interesting and educational 6" x 4" swatch of the material that makes up the Extravehicular Mobility Units for the Shuttle astronauts. This sample has all eleven layers, including explanatory titles, and is connected at the top for easy viewing and study. These eleven plies are all that is between the astronaut and the vacuum of space. A two page document from ILC Dover is included giving complete technical information the construction of these suits. ILC has designed and manufactured spacesuits for NASA since the famous A7L EMU worn by the Apollo astronauts. Excellent condition.Auction Info
