Description
Orders for the First Manned Mission Flight Schedules Signed by General Goreglyad and General N. P. Kamanin. April 4, 1961. This is the Order of Air Force High Command, a top secret official Soviet flight manifest list with the schedule of departures of the three aircrafts that brought all the cosmonauts, scientists, technical specialists, government commission members, and doctors to Baikonur to launch the first man into space.General N. P. Kamanin, the head of Cosmonaut Corp, has signed in red ink the orders on April 2, 1961, authorizing General Goreglyad's list of the makeup of the flights from a day earlier. (Kamanin has written "start" on the order beneath the officers and generals list.) (Goreglyad was the head of Cosmonaut training.) One can see that Titov was placed on a different flight as Gagarin and Grigori Nelyubov so that if one of the flights went down the other "favored" pilot for the flight could participate in the launch. Here we wonder if Titov, flying separate from the other two of "the last three," didn't think that he would be the one chosen at Baikonur. 8" x 11.25". Very fine condition.
