Description
Astronaut Hall of Fame: Buzz Aldrin's 1997 Apollo Astronauts Induction Plaque [and] 1994-Dated Alan Shepard Typed Letter Signed Regarding Fund-Raising Efforts, both Originally from Buzz Aldrin's Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. A 5.25" x 7.25" framed display bearing the emblem and declaring: "Here we honor the first brave flyers who journeyed into space.../ U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Rededication and Induction of the Apollo Astronauts/ October 4, 1997". Very fine.Also included in this lot: A one page letter on 8.5" x 11" Mercury Seven Foundation letterhead, October 3, 1994, to Buzz Aldrin from Alan Shepard as President. Shepard thanks the Apollo astronauts who signed the "In the Beginning..." print of Alan Bean, stating that $250,000 has been raised for the construction of an Apollo Wing on the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Signed "Alan". Flattened folds, very fine.
