Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-5) Unflown Silver Robbins Medallion, Serial Number 144, Directly from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Bruce McCandless II. This 38mm sterling silver medal, though not flown, is one of 196 minted in commemoration of Columbia's fifth orbital flight with Commander Vance Brand, Pilot Robert Overmyer, and Mission Specialists Joe Allen and William Lenoir. The obverse features the mission insignia with the shuttle in front of a five-pointed star design with the crew's surnames and Columbia around. The reverse includes their full names and the mission information, "November 11, 1982" and "November 16, 1982 / RW22 Edwards AFB, CA". The serial number is found on the rim along with the sterling and Robbins hallmarks. Original case with numbered sticker on the bottom included. The first of this mission Heritage has offered as an individual medal. Excellent.

Included with this lot is a signed LOC from Bruce McCandless's daughter Tracy McCandless.
