Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-6) Flown Silver Robbins Medallion, Serial Number 56F, Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Specialist Story Musgrave, with Signed Letter of Authenticity. This 46mm x 40mm hexagonal sterling silver medal was one of only sixty-seven flown (of 303 minted) aboard the first flight of the Space Shuttle Challenger along with crewmembers Paul Weitz, Karol Bobko, Donald Peterson, and Story Musgrave (his first flight). The obverse features the Shuttle and TDRS in flight, the ship's name, and the crew's surnames. The reverse also includes the crew's surnames along with the engraved information, Launched "April 4, 1983" and Landed "April 9, 1983 / RW22 Edwards AFB CA". The serial number is on the rim along with the sterling and Robbins hallmarks. The original Robbins plastic case with numbered sticker on the bottom is included. A stunning and rare medal. Signed, illustrated LOA included. Excellent.
