Description

Neil Armstrong Hubbard Medal Award Program Signed. A 10" x 10" four page color program for the presentation of the National Geographic Society's Hubbard Medal to the three Apollo 11 astronauts at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on February 16, 1970. This prestigious medal is awarded on an irregular basis for distinction in exploration, discovery and research. Winners previous to Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins include Robert Peary, Richard E. Byrd, Charles Lindbergh, and John Glenn. The color photo on the back cover depicts the Lunar Module Eagle returning from the lunar surface to rendezvous with Columbia with Earth seen above the horizon. It is signed "Neil Armstrong" near the LM. The program has some folds and mounting traces inside, all of which would easily mat out if so desired. Fine condition overall.
