Description

Soviet Vintage Soyuz 19 (Apollo-Soyuz Test Project) Rocket Launch Key on Engraved Plaque Presented to Ivan G. Borisenko, Soviet Sports Commissar. A 3" long x 1" diameter (at top) key on a 3.25" x 3.25" metal plate hand-engraved to Borisenko in script. Soyuz 19 was an extremely important mission as it rendezvoused and docked with an American Apollo spacecraft, often considered the symbolic end of the "space race" between the two countries. Borisenko was heavily involved with the mission. As Sports Commissar, he was the F.A.I. authenticator of Soviet space flights. Extremely rare and desirable. Some scratches on the plaque, very fine.
