Description
Apollo Program: Lunar Module Titanium Fuel Tank for the Reaction Control System. A massive empty propellant tank of 35" in overall height and approximately 12" in diameter. The metal tag states that this was manufactured by Bell Aerosystems Company, a division of Bell Aerospace Corporation. The manufacturer part number is "8339-471101-7" and the NASA contract number is "NAS 9-1100" indicating the Grumman contract for the lunar module. There are multiple other markings and stamps in various locations. Large letters around the tank read: "Tank Shell Temperature Shall Not Exceed 160° F/ Open In Clean Area Only/ Handle With Care Do Not Scratch, Nick Or Dent". An amazing and rare piece of equipment, perfect for display. Excellent condition.Auction Info
