Description
Apollo 11: Swatch of Unflown Kapton Foil on Certificate. A 1" x 1" swatch of Kapton foil removed during an emergency repair before launch, and placed on an illustrated certificate measuring 6.75" x 5". Accompanied by a letter from Grumman Lead Technician Lee Brandt who describes performing the repair while the craft was staged for launch on Launch Pad 39A. Sections of Kapton had to be removed in order to access the area in need of repair, which is how he came into possession of this piece. Excellent.Auction Info
