Description
Apollo 17 Command Module Flown Lunar Orbit Chart "A" Signed by and from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander Gene Cernan. This printed lunar map is approximately 13" x 160" in overall size and is comprised of three separate panels taped together to form an endless loop when unfolded. The printed title is "Lunar Orbit Chart A/ Apollo 17 Revs 1-18/ December 6, 1972", the Part Number is "SKB 32100123-377", and the Serial Number is "1001". Cernan has certified and signed near the title inset: "Flown on Apollo XVII Gene Cernan". This map covers the entire lunar surface during the first eighteen revolutions and was used primarily for landmark identification and photo opportunities; there are even f-stop and shutter speed notations on the map.
